Youngsters Reap What They Sow
Last updated at 13:39, Thursday, 16 August 2012
The team of youngsters at William Howard School's Open Spaces know the true meaning of 'you reap what you sow'.
On Tuesday 14th August they arrived at 2.30, put the animals out in the runs while they mucked out, and then replanted some of the home grown tomatoes.
After 2 hours of labour they then split the produce of the day into bags and shared out potatoes, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes, pea’s cucumber and strawberries.
Elizabeth Booker, is a highly respected teacher at the school, but what she teaches these children, is way beyond the curriculum.
Not one word of complaint, they all muck in together and enjoy the fruits of their labour.
The sun shone on some wonderful children who will surely have a bright future ahead of them.
Next week they will be planting out some boxes and try to repair the guinea pigs cages, unless anyone has one they can donate.
