This is to inform you that Maddy Prior’s Stepping Stones Festival website is being regularly updated as plans mature – click on the link below for the latest information about this unique music festival in Brampton on 5/6 May.
Latest update 13th April 2012
The Krazy Kat Theatre Company is performing ‘Goldilocks & How Many Bears?’ during the Saturday afternoon 5th May.
They are a class act and perform live theatre all over the Country. We are offering cheap tickets for the whole Saturday afternoon concert of which they are only a part, for a Parent and accompanied child under 12 for only £10 (the child being free!) and there is so much more on offer throughout the day too. The normal price is £15 per person. We are also organising childrens’ activities that morning making hobby horses and there will be a crèche in the afternoon to give stressed parents the chance to relax for a couple of hours. Maddy's House Party which was to be held in the heart of the Scottish Borders has now moved to Brampton Community Centre.
The bijou festival will feature Spiers and Boden, Coope, Boyes & Simpson, Keith Donnelly, Carnival Band, New Rope String Band, The Hut People, Whapweasel, Krazy Kat Theatre, food, beer tent, craft stalls, childrens entertainment & activities, various workshops and an Open Mic Stage.
Please read on for further information.
In addition to the 4 main concerts other events over the week-end are the musical workshops (harp, percussion, storytelling and singing), arts and crafts demonstrations (with some hands-on experience allowed), performances of musical and silent meditation techniques from 14 Sahaja Yogis (with audience participation encouraged!) as well as a wealth of individual skills and talents being showcased by the festival goers themselves. Maddy has also composed a musical play called Hobie Noble who was a swash-buckling Cumbrian Riever. The play features 6 beautiful local ballads and the world premiere performance will take place on the Sunday afternoon.
Brampton town traders are fully supporting Stepping Stones and there will also be a number of other events in and around the town’s pubs and cafés during the Bank Holiday week-end. Each Festival programme (£2) is individually numbered and will be automatically entered into the daily draw with the prizes donated by local merchants.
All camping and parking is free but there will be an entry charge of £2 for all non-ticket holders aged over 12. For those wanting to stay on site but who don’t fancy camping may wish to consider renting a yurt or squirt as described in the website.
Week-end tickets at £65 offer the best value for money but day tickets may be purchased at £35 or single concerts at £15 (limit of 1 per day). Children under 12 are free and parents with young children may attend the afternoon concerts at the special rate of £10 per accompanied child - that is a tremendous deal for over 5 hours of music and top quality, family friendly entertainment!
Paypal is available via the website to pay for week-end or day tickets. For all other ticket options please apply direct to info@steppingstonesfestival.co.uk in advance, or pay at the Festival office on the day.
If you are looking for something ‘completely different’ to do over the May Bank Holiday, why not support Brampton, meet Maddy Prior plus her many friends and supporters, and enjoy an unforgettable musical experience in a traditional Cumbrian setting, and all without breaking the Bank.
Be part of it!
