Brampton has been celebrating the Diamond Jublilee in style with hundreds of people taking part in events at the Primary School where parents, teachers and members of the community celebrated together.
The afternoon started with an enormous picnic, there was entertainment, dancing, cream tea's, the children performed scenes from history, the whole school was a sea of red white & blue.
Afterwards Connie Ridley, John Harding and Julie Campbell from Brampton Parish Council presented commemorative medals to the children.
A Jubilee Garden was openned at the front of school and an orchard planted on the field.
On Saturday morning to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, the Parish Council held a coffee & cake morning from 9.00am in the Moot Hall. Cheeky Charlie was entertaining, there was a face-painter (free of charge), free refreshments & cup cakes, free novelty items & a raffle to raise funds for the Christmas Lights. Everyone entered into the spirit, and although all looked quiet from the outside it was full of jubilation inside.
The Parish Council also provided medals to give to every child living in the parish of Brampton aged 11 (year 6) and under to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.
