Children from Brampton making a difference to the lives of needy children in Romania this Christmas

On Friday, children from local schools brought their Christmas Shoeboxes to the local shoebox drop-off point, Brampton Methodist Church, where they were greeted by Rev. Sue Wilkins and the Mayor and Mayoress of Carlisle and Brampton

Through a simple gift-filled shoebox the people of Brampton will be spreading hope, joy and laughter to children in Romania living in poverty this Christmas.
On Friday, children from local schools brought their Christmas Shoeboxes to the local shoebox drop-off point, Brampton Methodist Church, where they were greeted by Rev. Sue Wilkins and the Mayor and Mayoress of Carlisle and Brampton. The children were thanked for their response to the appeal and how each Christmas shoebox represents one child for whom Christmas will be very special this year. The children told the Mayor about some of the items they had chosen to put in their boxes this year, including Sweets, Cuddly Toys, Hats, Scarves and Stationary. The children enjoy being part of an international project to help needy children throughout the world.

Christmas Boxes were donated by children from Schools in the Local Area – Brampton Primary, William Howard, Irthington, Hallbankgate, Gilsland, Lanercost, Crosby on Eden Primary and Nursery, Castle Carrock, Hayton and Green Door Nursery.

Rev. Sue Wilkins said she was “overwhelmed by the number of Christmas boxes brought to Brampton Methodist Church this year for the Appeal. Thank you to all the Schools involved in the Appeal. Every box counts”. The Christmas Shoebox Appeal is a project of Samaritian’s Purse International.
