An Education features in new film season
Brampton Film Club has announced its new programme for the period between July and December 2010.
Eight films will be on offer to include:-
An Education, Looking for Eric, Lourdes, Last Station, Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll, Cinema Paradiso, Crazy Heart and A Serious Man.
Chairman, Eric Griffiths said, "This list includes some challenging titles but then that's the point of a film club, to stimulate the audience and provide something to get people thinking, not just about the story but also about the 'art' of films."
The new programme will kick off on 24 July with the highly acclaimed An Education.
In the interim, the current programme continues with Babette's Feast on 15 May; Goodbye Bafana on 5 June and the French 'block buster' comedy, Welcome to the Land of Sticks on 26 June.
The club's member's only summer event will also be held on 26 June. This will include the film, as well as a live band (Hadrian's Union), food, drink and a bumper raffle. Although open to members only, it is possible to join the club on the night for the remainder of the year and then gain admission to the event free. Half year membership is offered at a reduced rate.
Brampton Film Club is noted for having won a national award from the British Federation of Film Societies as the Best New Film Society 2009.
The club meets at Brampton Community Centre. Doors normally open from 6.30 pm and refreshments are served in the cafe.
Anyone wishing to join the club can do so at any club event. More information at www.bramptonfilmclub.org.
