Brampton is not the sort of town you would usually associate with hip hop music. But one teenager might just be about to change that.

Natalie raps about her life
Natalie Ivinson, 18, who lives at Townfoot Park, is an enthusiastic rapper who has been writing her own rhymes since she was a child.
She is now looking for a producer and other musicians to help her progress.
“I have always been into rap music,” she told The Cumberland News.
“I started listening to 50 Cent and stuff like that and just started writing lyrics for the fun of it.”
Natalie then let her parents hear her work – and they told her she had a talent and encouraged her to pursue her interest.
The rhymes she writes try to deal honestly with situations in life.
“I like to write about the truth,” Natalie said.
She has been a regular performer at the monthly open mic nights in the Off the Wall cafe on Front Street in Brampton.
Now she is looking to take her rhymes to other venues in Cumbria.
While Natalie enjoys performing, she admitted getting up on stage isn’t always easy. “Sometimes I do feel a bit sick with nerves,” she said.
But her live performances would be the basis for what she hopes will eventually lead to working with a record producer.
She added: “I’m looking for a producer to make a beat from the lyrics.”
At present, she is in discussion with one individual about recording tracks but would be keen to hear from others.
Natalie would also like to collaborate with musicians.
Away from the mic, she enjoys listening to a wide variety of music.
She is currently studying for A-levels at Richard Rose Academy in Carlisle. Until now she has kept her rapping a relatively private affair but she is now ready to let more people know about her passion.
